TEEN TRAINING

How It Works.

TWP offers numerous ways for teens to be trained.​

​

Individual Teen Sign up:  Class series will be posted on our website when available.  Find one near you or reach out to us if you would like to coordinate a program in your town via this link.​

​

 

Business Sign up:  Does your business employee teens?  Set up a private certificate program for your teen employees.  

​

 

After School Programs:  We would love to partner with schools!  We offer after school programs in order for teens to grow and be ready to work!

​

Specialized classes:  Certificate program not right for you or you can't fit it into your schedule?  TWP offers deep dives/specialized classes as well.

Level 1 - Foundations

Certifications.

TWP has 3 levels of Certification available to teens.  Each level consists of five 75-minute classes.   Choose to sign up for Level 1 or work to complete all Levels.  

Level 1 - Foundations of workForce readiness

Level 1 introduces teens to the basics of working life and helps them understand why work habits matter. Teens explore their personal motivations for working, learn how preparation leads to opportunity, and understand how first impressions, workplace policies, and everyday habits shape success on the job. This level focuses on building awareness, confidence, and responsibility so teens feel prepared and informed before starting their first job.
 

Topics include:

  • Understanding your “why” for working

  • Preparation and job applications

  • First impressions and professionalism

  • Workplace paperwork, paychecks, and policies

  • Building strong work habits
     

After Level 1, teens will:

  • Understand workplace expectations and basic employee responsibilities

  • Feel confident navigating applications, paperwork, and policies

  • Recognize how habits like punctuality and preparation impact success

  • Be ready to enter the workforce informed and prepared

Level 2 - Applied workplace skills & Self Advocacy

Level 2 builds on the foundation by focusing on communication, problem-solving, and managing real workplace responsibilities. Teens learn how to serve others professionally, advocate for themselves appropriately, manage time and money, and respond thoughtfully when challenges arise. This level helps teens move from simply having a job to being an effective and dependable employee.

 

Pre-requisites:  Level 1.

Please note - teens can get approval to waive Level 1 if they meet certain criteria and show knowledge base. Please reach out to info@teenworkpartners.org if you would like to request waiving Level 1.
 

Topics include:

  • Customer service and solution-focused thinking

  • Communication and self-advocacy

  • Personal banking and budgeting basics

  • Time management and punctuality

  • Handling problems with a calm, thoughtful approach
     

After Level 2, teens will:

  • Communicate more clearly and confidently at work

  • Advocate for themselves respectfully and professionally

  • Manage time, money, and responsibilities more effectively

  • Respond to workplace challenges with problem-solving skills

Level 3 - Leadership, Responsibility, and Growth

Level 3 prepares teens to lead—regardless of job title. Teens develop advanced skills such as conflict management, emotional intelligence, networking, and civic responsibility. The focus shifts from meeting expectations to earning trust, demonstrating initiative, and contributing positively to teams and communities. This level empowers teens to see themselves as leaders and role models in the workplace and beyond.

 

Pre-requisites:  Level 1 and Level 2.

  • Conflict management and resolution

  • Civic and social responsibility

  • Networking and professional relationships

  • Emotional intelligence

  • Demonstrating leadership through actions, not titles
     

After Level 3, teens will:

  • Handle conflict and feedback constructively

  • Demonstrate leadership and emotional intelligence

  • Build professional connections and networks

  • Understand their role as contributors to workplaces and communities
