Teen Advisory Council
The Teen Advisory Council (TAC) is a group of motivated students who provide input, feedback, and leadership to help guide Teenwork Partners’ programs and initiatives. The TAC ensures that teen voices are represented in decision-making, curriculum design, and community engagement efforts. Council members serve as ambassadors for TWP, helping to shape programming that is relevant, inclusive, and impactful for their peers while gaining valuable experience in leadership, collaboration, and advocacy.

Small Title

What will my responsibilities be?
As a TAC member, you'll serve as a thought partner to the TWP team and a teen ambassador for our programs. You’ll also work collaboratively with the group to plan and execute one fundraiser from start to finish.
What does it mean to be a teen ambassador?
You will represent and promote TWP’s programs and mission to peers and in your community by sharing your experiences with others to encourage teen engagement. You will also be the liaison between teens and TWP staff, helping TWP to stay youth-centered and relevant and providing feedback on how programs are perceived by teens.
How much time will this take?
The Teen Advisory Council will begin with a mandatory 2 hour kickoff session on Saturday, January 10th where members will get to know one another, learn more about Teenwork Partners (TWP), explore key professional skills, and brainstorm on TWP programs. After that, the group will meet every month for one hour (every other month in person).
What day of the week and time will the monthly meetings be held.
We have yet to determine what day the meetings will be held; but will do our best to meet the needs of the group. The monthly meetings will be in the evening (likely between 7pm and 8pm).
Will I be paid?
This is a volunteer position. While it is not paid, you’ll gain valuable leadership experience, build your resume, and develop professional skills. There will also be opportunities throughout the year to earn gift cards and other incentives. TAC members receive 25% off all TWP classes and events and because Teenwork Partners Inc. is a non-profit, hours dedicating to supporting TAC, can be considering volunteer hours.
How many teens will be part of this group?
We plan to accept 12–15 teens for the council.
How long is the commitment?
TAC is a 9 month commitment. We ask you to consider your availability carefully before applying to ensure you can participate for the program. We understand that schedules may vary and you might need to miss a meeting occasionally. If that happens, we expect you to catch up on what you missed—just as you would with school.
Can I participate in again if I really enjoyed it?
Yes, you can participate for more than one 9 month session as long as you were in good standing with the group. Teens can not be on the TAC for more than 2 consecutive sessions in order to allow others to participate and provide input.
What age do I have to be to join?
You must be between 14 and 18 years old to participate.
How will members be selected?
TWP is committed to forming a diverse group of teens who bring a variety of perspectives and experiences. Selection will be based on application responses and a short phone conversation. We’re looking for teens who are enthusiastic, collaborative, and eager to contribute.
What happens after I submit my application?
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Selected applicants will be contacted for a brief (15-minute) phone interview. Final decisions and notifications will be sent by end of December.
